Hi, I'm Maxim – a Senior Product Designer for complex SaaS products.

I design billing, checkout, and subscription systems where product decisions affect revenue, risk, and the work of several teams. Over eight years, I have grown from interface design into product ownership, experimentation, systems thinking, and cross-team delivery.

I also research, build, deploy, and operate independent products. Code, AI, automation, and data extend how I work as a Product Designer and help me carry decisions through to production and users.

I design billing, checkout, and subscription systems – areas where a design change moves revenue, so I test decisions instead of arguing about them. I also build and ship my own products end to end, which gives me a working sense of what is cheap and what is expensive to build.

Career

Eight years in complex SaaS grew from interface design into product ownership, experimentation, analytics, and cross-team delivery. Since 2025 I have also been shipping independent AI products end to end.

What I did

  1. 01 Do Not Remind Me

    Built a voice-and-text scheduling assistant that asks when timing is unclear, passed Google OAuth Data Access verification, and supports six languages.

    Built a personal knowledge assistant with LLM tagging and summarisation, semantic search, transcription, and automatic linking; it runs in closed production on my own infrastructure.

  3. 03 Unitkon

    Designed and deployed a Telegram-native storefront, learned that the first retention hypothesis did not hold, and shifted the next test towards community owners.

    Built a chart builder with SVG export and a rendering API for inserting charts directly into Figma workflows.

    Traced 74 failed background jobs to an API contract change, fixed a webhook race condition, and reduced noisy LLM output with confidence scoring.

What I did

  1. 01 Checkout migration

    Was Project Manager of record and Product Designer for a 38-week migration across four teams; closed the 15-year-old form with no conversion loss.

    Ran a button-label A/B test on 164,030 users: first payments +5.4%, paid users +4.78%, and trials +4.46%.

    Led the redesign of a legacy offer creation module, cutting the publishing cycle from one month to one sprint.

    Redesigned fraud review, suspicious-payment checks, trial-abuse review, and chargeback workflows for high-volume internal work.

  5. 05 International billing

    Adapted payment form logic and UI for VAT and country-specific tax ID rules in Canada and Latin America.

  6. 06 Analytics

    Built checkout funnel analysis from GA4 events in BigQuery to identify step-level drop-off.

Created digital and offline material for advertising campaigns, from animated banners and app pages to a conference website.

Over the years a lot of side projects piled up, and most are still alive.

Some I stopped maintaining, some I kept going – a few were pure “can I pull this off” challenges.

Sometimes I also write poems. Putting feelings into verse helps me work through things I can't otherwise phrase.

Things I enjoy

I love learning. I read, explore new technologies, and usually try them in practice right away.

This is how I taught myself PHP, Go, JavaScript, and several frameworks, which I now use in my own projects. Programming started as a hobby for me, and I am proud that I learned all of this on my own.

I also read a lot. Over the years, I have built a large library at home, and it keeps growing.

I run a lot. A basic training log was not enough for me, so I started building Paceme. It pulls data from COROS and helps me look at training load, recovery, and plans. For now, it is a tool I use myself.

My other projects often start with a small everyday frustration. This is how I made a Telegram bot that turns voice messages into Google Calendar events, a note system that finds thoughts by meaning, and a chart maker for Figma. I am usually the first user.

I have also made a couple of tracks in FL Studio, built a game in Unity, and made an Arduino humidity sensor that sends data without the internet. I like starting from zero and ending with something that works.

I have a son whom I love very much. Being his father is an important part of my life.
